On the road from historic Munich to the fairy tale King Ludwich castles and his beloved Neuschwanstein...A nineteenth century Romanesque Revival palace in southwest Bavaria...This is the one, said to be the inspiration for Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle...Ludwick's father, King Maximillian II built on older ruins of a summer castle, Schloss Hohenschwangau in 1st photos...Here as a youth, Ludwich planned another castle, Schloss Neuschwanstein in 2nd castle photos, and when king he started Neuschwanstein...It was to to be a romantc interpetation of the middle ages...The King's friend Richard Wagner and his operas Tannhäuser and Lohengrin influenced the idea of a hero knight's castle, with spectacular countryside views from each spot in the castle...Our second visit here and this is a WOW, and very cool to be able to climb and walk through this grandiose castle...A real fairy tale palace...
It was the thrill of the luge...down hill, let the control go forward and we're off...tight curving banked turns, pull the stick to control speed until the confidence factor increases, then its let'er rip...Second rides if you dare...With more speed....keep the elbows in or a raspberry will be the result...On through the rolling farming countryside into Salzburg for an evening arrival...A quick family run hotel check in... A short neighborhood walk to our group dinner...nice small resturant, great dinner and a delightful time together...Slow walk back checking the shopping and onto the hotel...
